Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region (RMHC-CR) has been Keeping Families Close since 1982. They proudly celebrated their 39th anniversary at the end of June and hosted a wonderful parade and block party with guest families and members of the community to celebrate.

As a member of the Board of Directors for RMHC-CR, it was very rewarding to see the community come together to celebrate the incredible impact the staff and volunteers have for the families we serve.

RMHC 39 Years of Love

“Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region draws on the compassion of our community to deliver and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families.” (RMHC-CR Mission Statement)

Located on South Lake Avenue in Albany, the Ronald McDonald House is located within a quick walk of the Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. The House, as it’s lovingly referred to, provides a caring and supporting environment for families to to stay while their children (and siblings) are receiving care at the hospital.

In addition to The House, The Ronald McDonald Family Room located inside The Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center provides families a place for respite without being far from their children.

The Ronald McDonald Family Retreat at Krantz Cottage in Lake George (Opening July 2021) will provide families a place to get away and spend quality time together. The Lake George community has been absolutely wonderful and welcoming for RMHC-CR’s new northern outpost.

These programs are the culmination of 39 years of incredible hard work and dedication by the staff and volunteers at Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region. For more information on RMHC-CR and the programs offered, please visit www.RMHCofAlbany.org.
